Grant Sine

It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child and at Grant Sine we really take this saying to heart. We are a very small school with a great enthusiasm for teaching children to be successful in this fast paced world. To be able to provide children with rich and meaningful experiences is difficult and often expensive in this day and age. It is difficult to compete with the high energy draw of television and video games. However we are able to provide lessons that engage and teach these children with some very creative teachers and financial assistance we receive from our bingo money.

Grant Sine is more than a school where children come to learn and teachers teach. Grant Sine is a community, a family, working together for the benefit of all. The children that attend Grant Sine are remarkable, resilient children. They come to school daily, happy to learn, looking forward to what they might experience today. The children at Grant Sine vibrate with possibility and potential. They view the school as part of their extended family where adults can be trusted and cared for. We are able to take this enthusiasm and help to provide the children with trips and experiences that help to foster a life long love of learning.

The goal of the Grant Sine staff is to give these children a positive, rich and balanced school curriculum so that when they leave Grant Sine they can enter the world with relevant, rich experiences, varied accomplishments and happy memories creating vibrant members of society. The staff strive to provide hands on learning tasks in the everyday education. Hot lunches are a 'home cooked' meal, akin to the family's Sunday dinner, they are anticipated and appreciated. Friday morning assemblies, where the entire school meets to sing, laugh and enjoy one another's company make everyone eager to return on Monday for another week of fun. Most of what we do at 'Sine' is because of the remarkable staff that we have and the money that we receive from our bi-weekly bingo sessions.

We are a community that shares a common goal and enjoys one another's company. We make a conscious effort to build happy memories. We take joy in one another's accomplishments and celebrate these as often as possible.
